Val Serenaia, 11-12 October 2008
One summer weekend, a beautiful sun, a temperature from the beginning of September even though we are already in mid-October. We go up the road polverosissima quarry on the right side of the valley with the aim of 'greening' the acronyms that good Salvioli has put up all the holes blowers that until now have been identified by us. It 's a strange work that made by Salvioli, with a purpose all its own, some of which I understood and some not, but I try to tell.
This is a very personal and special register (the register air) that has rewritten the parameters of the rating of the caves, even holes: First, a hole must have air blower must be, otherwise it does not affect the catalog (which, if anything, in Serenaia there was a cave with prehistoric paintings, but no air, you will not find in this collection) has verified that the air is really the sottosulo, the hole is provided with a code identifier (MC Rosskopf - Donegani D - G Garneroncino) with its number, each hole is also provided with photo ID - taken at 1 meter from the entrance or so - and that should show the morphological characteristics, but for the most Part of the holes is a kind of "search and find" because they are all very similar. These data are presented in a container with loose-with a brief description of the hole with photos, on the ground and remains the only known painting number beside the hole. Simple, no? But here the ass falls, because the paint that at first had been touted as "permanent" light of the facts proved to be a scam, because after less than a year, in many cases literally disappeared (in other cases it is still faintly visible but MOOLTO ...) and being the only thing the code that allows the identification of several holes is evident that goes immediately restored. Hence the decision to redo the space of all inputs and re-paint the letters paint a better, stronger.
We four, Salvioli, Geo, Marinella and myself, the holes are to be concluded more than 100, the can of red paint is abundant, and then ... up and down the valley in this activity by pensioners of caving. At the end of the weekend we have signed some thirty or so, and I must admit that it is good to shoot with a backpack on his shoulders from 3kg, almost all food and beverages, rather than with backpacks filled with 15 kg of scrap metal and strings ... other times.
remain another 70 holes to re-sign, and for the next few weeks we have made some programs, all very soft, which will soon put on the list to search for other pensioners ....
