Dr1 1 Kenmore Heavy Duty

of new pit is green!

March 10, 2008

Eventually we made it. Five years after the first drop in new pit - when even the deepest cave of Serenaia was just a slip of rolling stones that fell into a well - yesterday we went to color its water, to know for sure where they go to rise. Large team, with 7 people, partly because the initial hypothesis was to reach up to -500, disarming about 100 meters of the cave, and place the tracer at -400, in a beautiful little lake that seems made to be colored. None of that. Friday evening because the weather was not exactly clement, on Pradarena snowing, the Apuan Alps were immersed in a sea of \u200b\u200bstorm clouds and the temperature was very low, indeed. The condition "best" to meet CONUN lot of water in the cave, perhaps a full point that catches you in the worst .... Fearing that a little change 'plans and decide to put the dye -200, p.64 above (patience for the strings, with the floods will wash up). The next day, Saturday morning, with a slight drizzle that you moisten the foreman, go up the road to the pit: Sira, Mez, Adriano, Mirko, Daniel and Linda (two cavers Livorno) and myself (Marinella this time decided moving ....). Inside the tube next to nothing, apart from 4kg of fluorescein A 5-liter drum with a stick for stirring, 2 spotlights, 1 flash, a helmet rigged with halogen light, three lead-acid batteries, a tripod, a camera, a bunch of gloves, operating room, rope, attacks, down and up for warmth and food of course (as you'll see the color has been widely documented by the Count). Shortly before one we enter the cave. We go down the first wells and does not appear that there is plenty of water, we overcome the bottleneck UDM and arrive in beam (-110). Below us is a P.15 with the first trap of the cave. Mez, who took the rope down the well, goes down first. The place is comfortable, not very spacious but with a fair amount of water and given that water is there, perhaps more than at -200, we stop there and begin operations. At about 3 o'clock in the afternoon we begin to enter the dye; operation very long, very slow, with all the fluorescent to dissolve her going a bit 'at a time into the appropriate bin and then pour it into laghettino cha we created with stones. At first we are all very careful not to get any color, all wearing gloves, far from the deadly green, but after a while 'there's nothing to do, everything has become a bit' fluorescent light and LEDs This brings out all the more. Mirko and Syria seem to Sherk's brothers, Adriano moves from rock to rock to find the right shot for his photographs, leaving footprints Martian; Mez is hanging on the rope hoping not to stain, but I'm not sure he succeeded ... Towards the end of the 5 steps to dissolve the fluorescein and continue another hour to clean the green from all the holes where it was driven niches, trays, scallops, shoes, ears, noses .... Then you go out. Before leaving Adriano went to -200 to see if the dye has already arrived there, but nothing, and there is very little water (we did well to stop first!). At 7 pm the first is already out of grotta.Ha stopped raining, it's cold and we're in the fog (or clouds) and you do not see 5 meters! We go down following footprints in the snow which, fortunately, we drive to the trail and then down to the machines. For Agliano ahead with a superb dinner consisting of roast and potatoes, preceded by pasta in the oven and sprinkled with red wine ... Now we just have to wait for the analysis of the first captors ... or the ratio of police officers on the mystery of the green waters Apuan.

and as the poet says ... 'Ndo Culu to fluorescenina!
